COVID-19 information and FAQ
We are dedicated to organise Web Summer Camp as safely as possible. We gave careful thought to the entire experience, venue and travelling options, overall risks and additional safety precautions. With all those preventive measures and risks, we also want that Web Summer Camp remains an event during which you have a good time with your friends and colleagues.
Therefore, we want to organise this year’s Web Summer Camp with two main goals:
We want everyone to remain and feel safe
We want everyone to have a good time :)
If you’re still unsure whether you should be attending Web Summer Camp this year due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, here are some of the questions we wanted to answer upfront.
What kind of safety measures will be introduced during the Web Summer Camp?
Obviously, this is a crucial point of our conference. We want you to feel safe and comfortable. We will make sure that a sufficient number of face masks and disinfectants are available for all participants. We have selected those halls for workshops that are easy to air often. As another precaution, the air conditioning will be turned off. Instead, the halls will be ventilated regularly. Respecting the specific distancing requirements, the seating in the workshop halls will be organised in a way that participants can sit alone at their desks.
Are participants required to provide any tests upon their arrival?
Given the epidemiological situation and the increased risk of COVID-19 disease transmission, several counties on the Croatian coast, including the Šibenik-Knin County have introduced some new measures. Public events and gatherings that include more than 50 people are allowed only if participants can provide their EU Digital COVID Certificate (EUDCC).
European Commission has also adopted decisions ensuring that COVID-19 certificates issued by Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway, and as of recently, from North Macedonia, Ukraine and Turkey will be considered equivalent to the EU Digital COVID Certificate.
For all other non-EU citizens, from countries that are not in the EUDCC system, we will also accept negative tests not older than 72 hours, as those citizens need to get tested to enter the country anyway.
In other words, you must have an EU Digital Covid Certificate. You can easily get one with a negative PCR test (not older than 72 hrs) or a negative RAT test (not older than 48 hrs). Please note that it takes a couple of hours to apply for the EUDCC after you have received the negative test.
Can you assist participants with the testing required for returning home?
Yes, you can get tested within the hotel facilities. Please notify the hotel that you need that test upon your arrival so the staff can arrange the testing for you. Those tests will be charged on spot, you can pay with HRK or credit card.
What kind of measures will be implemented from the hotel side?
Amadria park Šibenik is working daily to respect the latest guidelines from WHO on hygiene and cleaning. All health and safety measures are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19, and cover everything from handwashing hygiene and cleaning product specifications to the guest room and common area cleaning procedures.
Generally, the hotel has introduced a whole set of new security measures and standards, with some previous standards being temporarily abolished, with regards to housekeeping, dining, wellness, outlets, beach and pool, in order to efficiently respond to Covid-19 situation. Detailed information about the measures will be provided to you upon your request and arrival at the hotel.
You can find more info here.
How do you plan to organise any additional activities, with regards to Covid-19 measures?
Any other activities we plan to organise during the Web Summer Camp, apart from the workshops, will be held in the outside facilities of the hotel, respecting the distancing measures. After hour drinks and dinners, for example, will be organised outdoors. This is how we plan to minimize the risk of any contagion or outbreak in general. In the case of bad weather, such activities will be held on the inside, again - respecting the distancing regulations.
Will there be some additional security staff to make sure that everyone is respecting the safety measures?
No. We trust that you are responsible and grown-up enough :) If you see someone who forgot to put their mask on, give them a wink. We believe in good vibes :)
How will you take care of the situation in the restaurants when many people gather around to have breakfasts or dinners?
The dining area is large enough to respect the current Covid-19 distancing recommendations. The selected dining room is ventilated numerous times a day. Due to additional precaution measures, participants will not be allowed to pick food from the buffet by themselves - instead, they will be served by the waiters.
Do you plan to hold any workshops in some spaces on the outside?
No, such a setting would not be suitable for workshops. Along with the risk from possible rainy weather, detailed presentations are difficult to follow due to bright light and therefore lower contrast projected on the canvas. We have considered this idea, but have come to the conclusion that the overall quality of such workshops would have deteriorated.
What other modifications are you taking to address the pandemic?
For detailed information about the safety from the hotel side, please visit hotel updates on Covid-19 measures.
I still have some questions, who can I turn to?
No problem, we’d be glad to help! Feel free to reach out - websummercamp@netgen.io.
